Ever since Garth Marenghi’s ‘Darkplace’, I have always looked out for stuff with Richard Avoade in it. Probably best known for his role as Moss in ‘The It Crowd’, ‘Submarine’ is Richard’s directorial debut.
Based on the the excellent novel by Joe Dunthorne, and produced by Ben Stiller, this heart-warming coming of age comedy drama set in Wales, has been a big hit with normally cold blooded critics.
Submarine has a strong cast, especially good is Craig Roberts, as the young lead desperate to lose his virginity before his sixteenth birthday.
It is out in the UK on March 18th and the US a week or two later.
With so many Horror/ Disaster / Violent movies having been released lately it’s so nice to see Submarine finally come out. Films as special as this are few and far between, GO AND SEE IT!
PS Another good (no make that great), thing about the film is the fantastic soundtrack, featuring new solo tracks from Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys and it is out Today on Domino Records (14th March 2011). Listen to Piledriver Waltz below.
Very excited about this! Craig Roberts was pretty good in Being Human recently …and the sound track to this film is gonna be amazing!
