When haute couture houses are working on a car’s design the end product is usually something if not exciting, then definitely interesting to see. The results, some good, some bad leave you open-mouthed in awe, even if they are not something you would necessarily want to drive. Collaborations with fashion brands are not unusual and everyone from Gucci to Levi’s to Versace have worked on limited edition car design ideas. Here is a few of my favourites.

GUCCI CADILLAC SEVILLE 1978-85. ISSUE
Fashion house Gucci weren’t shy in staying away from automotive trends and the design of AMC Hornet Sportabout was one of the latest models of the Fiat 500 Gucci. As for the Gucci Cadillac Seville, it was not officially introduced by Cadillac. Apparently, when they saw the finished results they decided to keep it under wraps. The Gucci-branded interior is pure luxury and the GG badges on the hood, wheels and other trim elements are made of 24-carat gold.
1973 LEVI’S EDITION AMC GREMLIN

In the 70s, AMC actively collaborated with designer fashion houses. Levi-Strauss (founder of Levi’s) also took part in the design of automobiles, equipping several AMC models with the Levi’s logo. The most tragic and terrible among these models was the Gremlin, in the advertising slogan of which sounded “an economical car that wears trousers.”
VERSACE LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO LP640 2008 ISSUED

The Versace version of the sports car of the Lamborghini Murcielago model contains the key Greek motif of the Italian fashion house, which can be found in the embroidery of car seats and door trim. In addition to small changes in the interior, the Versace Lamborghini model was pretty much the same otherwise.
BUGATTI VEYRON FBG PAR HERMES 2008-2009 ISSUE

Four stylish Bugatti cars of the Veyron Fbg par Hermes model, whose power is 1001 horsepower, were sold at a price of about $ 2 million each. A H-shaped badge is placed on the grille and the designer wheels, indicating that the French high fashion house Hermes participated in the creation of the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès. The Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermes has a high-quality calfskin scent. The Models were decorated in red-blue and graphite-blue colors. Nice!
1994 NAUTICA MERCURY VILLAGER RELEASE

In 1994, in partnership with Nissan, Mercury, introduced a modified model of Villager – the result of a collaboration with the Nautica clothing brand. The model is equipped with white discs, a yellow stripe along the entire length of the body and gray-blue leather seats with an embroidered Nautica logo in the form of a sailboat. BILL BLASS CONTINENTAL MARK V 1979 ISSUED

Lincoln could take a long time to catch up with AMC in the “successes” of collaboration with eminent designers. But in 1976, four designer models of the rather long Lincoln Continental came out. The hands of Emilio Pucci, Givenchy, Cartier fashion house had their hands on their creation. From a number of Lincoln designer cars, let us single out the 1979 Mark V model, which was created in collaboration with Bill Bass. The model is made in two colors – white and blue metallic. The roof is completely made of white vinyl.
