While the Samsung SH100 is a fairly basic point-and-shoot camera it comes with a some nice built-in photo preset effects to help you get creative and give your pictures a new perspective.
The Croc picture (below) was taken using the ‘Cinema‘ filter. (please note these pics have been reduced in quality for the web).
Other effects, include Soft Focus, Negative, FishEye and a cool Tilt Shift effect to make everything look like it is in miniature.
The Auto Focus works well and it seemed to be able to tell the difference between a mountain and a face. If you want to get more technical in terms of set-up you can make plenty of adjustments, but to be honest I was fairly pleased with the results by sticking to the presets.
You can merge photos, crop and add effects / frames etc after you have taken a pic and if there is good light and you have a steady hand it will come up trumps for you.
All in all a decent camera for the price (around £100), and you would expect to pay the same amount for this kind of camera without the extra Wi-Fi and sharing functions included.
