UK Fans of Gary Numan are in for a treat next weekend as the Numanoid plays 2 special shows in Manchester (Fri 1st April) and London (Sat 2nd April).
A pioneer in electronic music from his early days with Tubeway Army, Numan has been name-checked by everyone from Marilyn Manson to Nine Inch Nails as an influence on their music (Numan is rumoured to be working on new material with Trent Reznor).
Back To the Phuture has been put together by Wall of Sound founder, DJ and radio presenter Mark Jones. An obsessive fan of electronic music, Jones’ concept with Back to the Phuture was to…
“join-the-dots between the pioneers of electro pop, club music and experimental sounds with new blood who’ve taken the blueprint and pushed the envelope in their own original direction”.
Perfroming alongside Numan in Back To the Phuture Live will be new band ‘Motor‘ (see below) and a DJ set from Daniel Miller, the legend behind Mute records, the label behind Depeche Mode, Add N to (X), Nick Cave, Wire and more recently Goldfrapp (to name a few).
Should be good….
