Summer in the city and the air is still. London is full of cool places to eat, but here’s three special joints to visit over the Summer that are affordable, fun and best of all passionate about good food.
Vauxhall Street Food Garden
Now in its second successful year, Vauxhall Street Food Garden is a self contained foodie heaven less than one minute from Vauxhall train/tube station.
Open weekdays from 11am, manager Zak rotates a first class roster of tasty food stalls – everything from Colombian ‘Empandas’ to spicy Indonesian ‘Mie Ayam’ and ‘Sate Ayam’, Jerk Chicken to authentic wood fired pizzas and finger licking Mexican ‘Churros’.
The Vauxhall Street Food Garden has something to suit all tastes and preferences with Vegan and Vegetarian options available (and delicious).
There’s plenty of seating, Wi-Fi and apparently it’s also popular with the real-life James Bond’s from the MI5 offices around the corner. Thirsty? Get down here between 5pm and 7pm and grab a happy-hour cocktail or an energy boosting smoothie (shaken, not stirred) from the friendly Caribbean lady.

Randall & Aubin
Forget Glastonbury, for festival fun of a culinary kind this Summer visit #crabstock at Randall & Aubin, one of London’s best seafood restaurants.
Each week a new crab dish will grace the menu such as ‘Chilli and Garlic Crab, served with steamed rice’, ‘Crab Beignets, served with crispy greens and creole style remoulade’, or my favourite a ‘#crabstock burger and fries’, perfect for a Summer lunch, washed down with a cold glass of fizz.
After 17 years in what used to be Winston Churchill’s butchers in the heart of Soho, the creative team of Jamie Poulton and Ed Baines still keep the passion for simple and delicious food very close to the heart.
All #crabstock dishes are between £14.50 & £15.50 in price, for more info visit www.randallandaubin.com

London Riviera
This five-month bespoke pop-up overlooking Tower Bridge on the banks of the Thames is inspired by Miami beach chic and the French Riviera with decor including palm trees, luxurious day-beds, giant pineapples and pink flamingos.
(Celebrity) Chef John Quilter and Tom Kime from Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant are combining delectably fresh flavours of Eastern Mediterranean street food with exotic cocktails, craft beers and dazzling desserts to spectacular effect.
Highlights include a beautiful kaleidoscope of dips including ‘Pancar (roast beetroot, yoghurt, garlic and pistachio)’, ‘Fadi (fried baby courgette purée with tahini, roast garlic, yoghurt & lemon)’ or ‘Ceru’s signature Slow Roast Lamb Shoulder with Shawarma Spices’ all served with freshly baked pita.
For a sweet tooth try the amaaaazing ‘Baklava flavoured ice cream with roast nut brittle, & burnt honey caramel’.
