The first day of Milan Fashion Week kicks of proper with a date with Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Their visiting the Mango shop next to Duomo in the heart of Milan, unfortunately despite having a photo-pass, by the time I arrive the crowd is so thick I can’t get anywhere near the front of the shop (see Cara’s instagram pic below).
It’s not a great start to my career as an International fashion photographer and the rain is also pouring down so I’m completely soaked. Luckily there is a dry sanctuary in the Genny SS16 Catwalk show close by.
As an introduction to the catwalk show, Genny’s Creative director, Sara Cavazza Facchini (3rd pic down on the right with white dress) introduces a short film to highlight the brands dedication to Italian manufacturing and the importance of good working conditions right along its supply chain. As for the clothes, Genny’s SS16 collection epitomises sophistication, femininity and natural elegance.

Philipp Plein
For the last two weeks the set for Philipp Plein’s catwalk show has been under construction in a warehouse in Milan. When I arrive to film a time-lapse video the place is an incredible hive of activity.
Philippe Plein – Milan Fashion Week 2015 from Flush the Fashion on Vimeo.
Philipp Plein’s show is more like a rock concert, Courtney Love performs ‘Celebrity Skin’ with a completely robotic band (guitarist, drummer and bass player) a catwalk that is a conveyor belt, flying drones lasers and other special effects that almost overshadow the clothes completely.
