Louis Vuitton took over The Frick Collection for its Cruise 2027 presentation, with Nicolas Ghesquière turning the Upper East Side museum into one of the season’s most memorable runway settings.

The guest list alone gave the evening the atmosphere of a major film premiere. Long-time Louis Vuitton ambassadors including Emma Stone, Zendaya, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Connelly, Alicia Vikander and Emily Blunt sat alongside a younger mix of actors, creatives and fashion insiders, including Chloë Sevigny, Ava DuVernay, Emma Laird, Sadie Soverall and Bella Maclean.
On the runway, Ghesquière stayed close to the futuristic, architectural aesthetic he has developed during his time at Louis Vuitton. Sharp tailoring, layered silhouettes and heavily textured fabrics contrasted with the museum’s ornate interiors, creating a tension between old-world elegance and modern design that felt deliberate rather than forced.
The venue itself shaped much of the evening’s mood. Known for its intimate galleries and European master paintings, The Frick offered a quieter and more cinematic backdrop than the oversized productions usually associated with cruise season. Instead of overpowering the space, the collection seemed designed to work with it, allowing the setting to become part of the storytelling.
More than anything, the show reinforced Louis Vuitton’s ability to turn a runway presentation into a wider cultural event. By staging Cruise 2027 inside one of New York’s most respected art institutions, the house once again blurred the lines between fashion, celebrity and contemporary culture.
As the Cruise 2027 season continues, this presentation already feels likely to stand out — not because it was the loudest show of the week, but because it captured a very specific kind of New York glamour: cinematic, polished and slightly understated.
