How to Take Care of Your Skin Whilst Traveling

When you are traveling across the world and moving throughout different climates, it’s easy to let your beauty routine and skincare slip a little.

When you are keeping to a hectic travel schedule and are trying to see as much as possible, looking after your skin is probably one of the last things on your mind. It’s understandable.
What if I told you that it’s entirely possible to take care of your skin and keep it in good condition whilst you’re on the go? There are a few simple things you can do each day to ensure your skin looks and feels just as good as when you are at home. It doesn’t require much time or the use of many products to keep everything in decent condition.

#1: Ensure You Keep Hydrated

This is one of the main reasons for somebody’s skin looking disheveled, especially when you are traveling. Long-term traveling takes a lot out of you and your body, and this can take its toll on your skin. It’s always a good idea to carry around a refillable travel-friendly bottle when you are country-hopping. Drink your water and refill it at every possible opportunity.
Our bodies need water and by drinking enough of it you can help flush toxins out of your body and keep your skin fresh.

#2: Moisturise Each Day

If you are traveling in particularly hot or cold climates – or traveling between them – the heat can dry out your skin. When you are in a hot climate, it draws out moisture, and when you are in a cold climate the harsh low temperatures cause dry and cracked skin. That’s before you factor in dry airplane cabins, too.

You should always carry around small bottles of a good moisturising skin, which you can use each morning, particularly on the face which is the biggest victim of travel-related skin problems. It only takes a few seconds and it makes a huge difference. There are plenty of providers of travel-friendly products that really take care of your skin, such as the Dead Sea skin care range which contains Dead Sea minerals to nourish your complexion.

#3: Reduce Your Makeup

You don’t need to put on tons of makeup when you are going out to see the sights and attractions of your destination. Sure, if you are going out on the town or for a nice meal then putting on makeup is understandable, but nobody on a hike cares how you look. There are plenty of other more interesting things to be looking at. Harsh, but true.

By not wearing makeup, especially in hot climates, your pores are free to sweat because they aren’t clogged up by the likes of foundation. Using too much makeup can lead to blackheads, spots, and even dry out the skin with long-term excessive use.

There’s no reason to let your skincare routine slip when you are on holiday. Drink more water, wear less makeup and moisturise. You’ll soon find that it’s on the mend.
