Since the very inception of home-computing and the birth of video-games, developers have created games with a horror or supernatural twist.

With the new generation of consoles and the advancements in graphics, sound and realism have enabled developers to blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality and things have come a very long way since Atari brought out the chunky pixeled Haunted House back in 1982.

Forthcoming title ‘The Evil Within’ takes things one step further and as you can see in this video of gamers playing the game (below), it’s one not for the faint-hearted!

Nicely slated for release in the UK around Halloween, the game has been developed by the same team that brought you Resident Evil and directed by the master of horror, Shinji Mikami.

The story concerns Detective Sebastian Castellanos, who while investigating a gruesome murder witnesses the slaughter of his fellow officers, is then ambushed and left unconscious. When he awakes, his world has changed into a place where monstrous beings walk with the dead.

If you’re a fan of gloomy-lit corridors, insanely creepy scenarios, blood, gore and more blood, ‘The Evil Within’ is definitely one to look out for.

‘The Evil Within’ will be available for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
