The year is 2012 and here is a NEW Van Halen track.
To be honest with you ‘Tattoo’ could be 3 minutes of guitar feedback and it would still be featured on Flush the Fashion.
The fact it bodyslams sh*te like N*ckleback to the ground in an instant makes the first single from forthcoming VH album ‘A Different Kind of Truth’ the first surprise in what should be an amazing year of new (and old) music.
Is it relevant whatsoever to today’s music scene? Probably not, but that’s what I like about it, and after inspiring so many Rock bands in the 80’s, no-one else sounds quite like Van Halen with David Lee Roth on vocals even if the song sounds almost EXACTLY like a track they wrote in 1977 (but never released) called Down in Flames.
By the way, if you are thinking the Bass player looks a bit young to be in a band that formed in 1972 you would be right. Replacing former bassist Michael Anthony is Eddie Van Halen‘s son, Wolfgang.
And they say it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
The band have just announced a US tour too, for the full info visit
