Bloc Party returned from their extended hiatus this summer, and were intermediately welcomed back with open arms by music fans all over the country.
It had been four years since the release of ‘Intimacy’, and in musical terms that feels like light years ago. New album, aptly titled ‘Four’ was a very big deal for me and thousands of other like-minded ‘Bloc heads’ (that is what I am calling them).
The radical shift in sounds from the colossal and perfectly named ‘Coliseum’, to the sad but beautiful ‘RealTalk’ and simply huge opener, ‘So He Begins to Lie’ may be too much variety for some, but there are so many different levels to explore it’s an album that will keep you engaged and entertained for a very long time.
They’ve just released a new video for ‘Kettling’ (see below) and are heading out on tour this month across the UK.
Who knows when the band will be heading out again so now could be the perfect time to catch them live.
