Swimsuit and Bikini Outfit Options

With summer (almost) upon us, we’re taking every opportunity to flaunt our favourite swimsuits and bikinis, whether we’re kicking back by the pool or relaxing on a secluded, white sandy beach. However, sometimes you need a little more coverage to shade you from the sun, or something to easily throw on that will seamlessly take you from the beach to the bar.

To help you build the perfect summer over swim outfit or dress up your bikini to suit any of your summer plans, we’ve curated a few of our favourite swimsuit and bikini outfit ideas to see you through the warmer weather.

Sarong

A high quality, breezy sarong is a must have summer accessory. Versatile and lightweight, it’s perfect for travelling with or keeping in your beach tote for those long summer days by the coast. With an almost endless number of ways to tie it, a sarong can be layered over your bikini as a dress, mini skirt or flowing midi skirt in a number of different styles and finishes. Once you’ve hit the sand, elevate your look and protect yourself from the heat by tying your sarong into a headscarf.

Coordinating set

If you’re looking to invest in a versatile, effortlessly cool outfit, look no further than a two piece coordinating set. With an array of hues, prints and patterns to choose from, there’s a set to match perfectly with your favourite bikini or create an eye catching contrast. We love a boyfriend fit shirt and shorts combination that can be worn open over your swimsuit to add a touch of femininity and fun.

Shirt dress

One of the easiest ways to cover up or dress up your swimwear is with an oversized shirt dress. Long enough to modestly cover you, but short enough to keep you cool even in the height of summer, the shirt dress is one of our go to pieces, season after season. Much like the coordinating set, there’s a myriad of colours, patterns and fabrics to choose from, ranging from minimalistic crisp white linen to all over summer inspired prints in standout shades. Pair a breezy shirt dress with a woven straw hat for a luxuriously laid back look.

Flowing pants

Whether you’re heading for a stroll across the beach, an afternoon pool party or cooling down in the shade with an icy midday cocktail, a pair of wide leg, flowing pants will level up your beachside look and give just the right amount of coverage. Pair with a one piece swimsuit for an ensemble that will take you from day to night, or a bandeau or triangle bikini top for a lowkey day time look.

Mini shorts

Similar to pairing your bikini with flowing pants, mini shorts are a wearable yet stylish option. Add a sporty touch with fitted knit shorts or opt for comfort with a lightweight, loose fit pair. If you’re looking for more coverage, add a simple crop or cami and finish with a woven oversized beach tote, perfect for afternoons by the coast.

Wearing your favourite bikini doesn’t have to be exclusively on the sand or in the pool. Layer your swimwear with breezy overswim, luxurious sarongs or sporty knit shorts for a look that will take you from the beach to beyond. Mix and match colours and fabrics or keep it coordinated with your go to hues this season.
