The way we drive cars is going to change dramatically in the next 20 years and if you’re in any doubt here’s a new video from Volvo showing off their upcoming autonomous driving technology.
The new IntelliSafe Auto Pilot system will be installed into 100 XC90’s based in Gothenberg in 2017 for exhaustive testing and the cars will be available to drive autonomously on approx 50km of roads around the city.
It looks great in theory, but it also throws up future debates regarding drink-driving limits, driving tests and possible insurance claims in a bump. Most of all though I’m wondering what the police are going to think when they see me reading a newspaper at the wheel?
