Sponsored Video ‘The Vauxhalls’ by James Brown

Celeb Stylist James Brown has been a busy boy of late. The man Sienna Miller and Emma Watson trust to tease their locks to perfection in the salon has been expanding his creative boundaries to encompass a new medium and possible career direction.

His celluloid directorial debut is ‘The Vauxhalls’, a sassy new short featuring Abbey Clancy, the Strictly Come Dancing winner and wife of Peter Crouch and showcasing the new ‘Vauxhall Adam Rocks Air’, a special edition of the car that has breathed new life into Vauxhalls range.

It’s actually named after Adam Opel, the founder of Opel (if you didn’t know Vauxhall is the UK name for Opel) and was originally a concept car that impressed so much they made it a reality. At one stage the film follows Abbey’s character driving the new Rocks Air through the streets of London, with the roof down she epitomises the rock n’ roll spirit that the Vauxhall Adam was born from.

According to Marc Adams, Vice president of design at Vauxhall Motors “‘The Vauxhalls’ explores why rock and roll was so influential. As car designers we work within Vauxhalls design philosophy but still drive for a significant amount of creative freedom, so it’s imperative for us to engage and understand past, present and future trends”.

They seem to be on to something as since its launch at the Geneva Motor Show just over 18 months ago, the Adam has been flying off the shelves and Vauxhall have waved goodbye to over 100,000 of them. Pretty good going for a new model in a segment that has strong competition from the likes of the Fiat 500 and Citroen DS3, cars that are no slouches themselves.

The new ‘Rocks Air’ edition is notable for the new punchy 115PS 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol engine and an all new six speed gearbox. The car also has a modified chassis with a raised ride height and new steering tuning and looks even better than ever.

Rather like Abbey, one of the secrets of the Adams impressive success has been its drop dead good looks and James’s Ad goes to some lengths to capture both their best angles (and there are plenty to see).

Oh, and if you are wondering the rather splendid music is ‘Heart Is a Beating Drum’ by The Kills, lead singer / songwriter Jamie Hince used to be in Scarfo and was also in Fiji (one of my favourite bands). He also just happens to be married to Kate Moss, one of James Browns best friends.

Would you Adam and Eve it?

ADAM ROCKS AIR is priced at £14,695
