The War on Drugs – Brothers

the war on drugs

I like the Secretly Canadian record label. Anyone that puts out music by bands called ‘I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness’, ‘Swearing at Motorists’ and ‘The Horns of Happiness’ has to be good in my book.

Another band with a great name is The War on Drugs, they’ve been doing their own thing since 2003 when none other than Kurt Vile and guitarist / vocalist Adam Granduciela got first together in Philadelphia.

Kurt left to pursue other projects but The War on Drugs continued and the current line up (David Hartley -Bass/lead guitar, Steven Urgo– Drums/Sampler and Robbie Bennett – keyboards /guitars) land upon UK soil for the first time in February for a 7 date tour (see below).

Their latest record Slave Ambient is well worth checking out and this is the video to their song Brothers.
