From his birth at the Queen Elizabeth hospital, Kings Lynn (his first audience), to his adventures at scout camp (bullying), marriage (adultery), divorce, kids (not in that order), his humble beginnings in Hospital Radio, and of course the unlawful shooting and killing of a man live on his BBC Chat show (see below), Alan Gordon Partridge‘s life has been a series of incredible highs and dark desperate lows.
It would seem foolish now, not to also mention his horrible addiction to Toblerone chocolate bars, an addiction that cost him dear and led him to driving to Dundee barefoot.
But Alan Partridge is a survivor, he’s looked out into oblivion and even dangled a smartly polished brogue over the edge.
Currently enjoying life as a presenter on North Norfolk Digital Radio, for the first time ever (if you don’t count his previous Autobiography, Bouncing Back) Alan has decided to set the record straight with a new book. I, Partridge We need to talk About Alan.
It’s a wonderful read, and one which would make any reasonable distance train journey memorable. What is more special is the SIGNED copy we have in the Flush the Fashion offices (that is up for grabs).
Alan was more than happy to personally sign a copy for us at the recent Norwich Waterstone’s book signing, thoughtfully inscribed “To Insert name here, Alan Partridge (see pic)”. It’s a real collectors item, and there can only be 3, or possible 4 hundred or so of these in circulation in the East Anglia area.

Incidentally Alan has thoughtfully put together a soundtrack to accompany his book and a very nice chap had put together a spotify playlist containing all of Alan’s choices.
The one exception not available was a track by Wings (only the band The Beatles could have been!) and ‘Pipes of Peace‘ is a cover, apart from that you’re good to go!
