Tech: Obliq Smartphone Cases

It can be a hard job to find a reliable, yet style aware case for a smartphone. However, the guys over at Obliq have been working hard to make a new range that fits the bill.

From starting the business in a garage, to now hosting a whole team covering all aspects of its business, Obliq remain dedicated to bring us “highend, beautifully crafted cases for all”. With cases for iPhone, iPad, Galaxy & Nexus, with a range of accessories to back them up, it’s easy to pick a case suited to you for your daily use or specific needs.

I managed to get my hands around the Xtreme Pro Series, the new Skyline Advance and the Naked Shield. all possessed a variant in style but with a similar price tag of around £20.00 here in the U.K. or around $35.00 in the U.S. so let’s get into the details shall we?

Xtreme Pro Series

Xtreme Pro Series

The Xtreme Pro Series kicks things off and is a great place to start. Presenting a slim appearance and feel, it’s hard to believe that this case is a dual layer case. Capable of giving protection from ‘Maximum Drops’ it has the added bonus of scratch protection as the case encloses your phone, thanks to the wrap around sides.

Whilst we are on the subject of sides, a great feature is the added grip and easy access to ports and buttons, a huge thumbs up from me. The Xtreme Pro is ideal for people working in conditions where protection is needed or if you are like me with your butter fingers. With less than a handful of colours and covering only a minor range of devices from Galaxy & iPhone models, the Xtreme Pro gets an 8 out of 10 from me.

Skyline Advance

Skyline Advance

Second up, is the Skyline Advance. This is the one for you if you want protection and want a hands free experience. But how can it be ‘a hands free experience’? Simple, the Skyline range comes with a handy kickstand! Easily accessible on the lower half of the case, flick it out and you are ready to enjoy. A game was also played with the kickstand out and to be honest didn’t even budge.

I’ve had a few cases with kickstands and most of them pretty much fell apart or once used just didn’t want to go back and flopped around like a wet fish, but not with the Skyline. The precision cut holes keep the camera from becoming obstructed also so your selfie game can continue to reign supreme. For practicality and protection combined, the skyline leans over to gain a 9 out of 10.

Naked Shield

Naked Shield

Last but by no means least is the Naked Shield a simple but effective wrap around case. Which as the name suggests has a transparent appearance and added kickstand feature for the hands free streamers. Being the slimmest of the cases the Naked one (as it shall now be known) adds little extra bulk to your phone keeping with the Au Natural aura.

Transparency wouldn’t be a great thing if you store key cards etc. in your phone case, but if you want to show off the colour of your phone this is the one for all you naturalists. The Naked shield has enticed an alluring 8 out of 10.

Out of the 3 cases, my star pick would be the Skyline with its functionality and style. But don’t just take my word for it, you can check these out, plus many more over at www.obliqproduct.com.
