French Connection Launches SS Campaign – 90’s revival

Whilst it seems that only yesterday we were in the 90s, the bygone era is being brought back with a bang in French Connection’s Spring Summer Campaign. Reflecting the successes of the period, it draws inspiration from Cool Britannia and up-and-coming talent such as The Face and i-D magazine as well as a myriad of iconic moments – (think Kelly Macdonald’s sequin dress in Trainspotting).

French Connection’s iconic FCUK slogan t-shirts were a focal fashion point in the iconic brands heyday and it won’t be long before once again we are sporting the provocative branding across our chests once again.

In a time when slip dresses, a Cold Feet reunion and red berry lips are making headlines, it seems only natural that French Connection revives the period too.

French Connection has long held a track record for spotting new talent and nurturing those just entering the spotlight- whether in art, music or fashion, and this is reflected in their new campaign. It features fresh British singer/ songwriter Will Heard who features on Rudimentals new album and is currently supporting them on tour as well as Parisian model and actress Angie Sherbourne, Polish model Coco Kate and British model and self-proclaimed ‘artist in training’ Wilson Oryema.

Harley Weird was the photographer of choice for the campaign- her second for FCUK. When speaking of why she was chosen to capture the collection, French Connection described how her distinctive style and shooting brings the 90s to life with relevance in the present day.
