Desperate Journalist – Resolutions

Thanks to a keen eye and ear for the good and a network of musical spies that put MI5 to shame Fierce Panda has been releasing quality music now since well before the dawn of BritPop. For every Coldplay and Placebo there’s been a CAY and Fantasmagroover, but Panda Bands have always had a certain something – usually a shearing, piercing guitar noise that sounds pretty excellent after 2 pints of Guinness in a North London Boozer.

No exception is Panda Protegee’s Desperate Journalist. Their new video ‘Resolutions’ is taken from the bands forthcoming second album  ‘Grow Up’ . I love it and think you should too.

When talking about the new album singer Jo Bevan had this to say…. “Musically we also wanted this to be a progression from our first record, which hopefully comes across. There’s a lot more atmosphere on this album. We were thinking about arrangements and structures in a more (ugh) mature way this time round having figured a lot of stuff out via writing and recording the songs from our debut and then the EP. We’re so proud of it and it’s resulted in something we really feel is both more powerful and more refined. We’re now a well oiled cathartic tunes machine. Or something.”
